Car Accident Claims

Car accident claims

It’s not always easy to know where to begin when making a car accident claim. Once the initial shock subsides, you could be faced with lasting injuries due to another party’s negligence, and have no idea where to turn.

Unfortunately, serious injuries are not uncommon. According to Brake, a UK road safety charity, around 82 people are seriously injured on our roads each day.

If you were injured in a car accident during the past three years that was someone else’s fault, we’re here to help. Our founder Daniel Taylor has over 20 years experience assisting clients with successful car accident claims for personal injury, and is dedicated to helping you achieve the best possible outcome.

Car Accident FAQS

What is a 'No Win, No Fee' car accident claim?

A "Conditional Fee" or "No Win, No Fee" agreement is an arrangement between car accident solicitors and their client. It means that the client only has to pay their solicitor if they receive compensation following a successful personal injury claim.

At Daniel Taylor Solicitors, we offer guaranteed No Win, No Fee agreements. So, you only pay us if you receive compensation in light of your car accident claim.

How long does a claim take after a car accident?

There is no definite answer to how long it takes for a car accident claim to be settled, there are a range of factors affecting this such as:

  • The type of collision you have been involved in
  • The severity of your injuries
  • Your expected recovery time
  • Whether the other party accept that their negligence caused your injuries
  • The details and documents needed to support your claim

If liability for the accident is admitted and you recover quickly from your injuries, your claim may be resolved in as little as 90 days. However, may cases take longer than this. Once your claim has settled in your favour, it usually takes around 4-6 weeks for your compensation to be paid.

When can I make a car accident claim?

As shown in the Limitation Act 1980, the time limits for a car accident claim are either:

  • three years from the date of the incident
  • three years from the date you became aware that the other driver's negligence caused or contributed to your injury (usually the date of the incident)
  • Until your 21st birthday if the accident occurred before you had reached the age of 18
However, you should always seek advice from a specialist solicitor if you have been involved in a car accident and are considering making a claim.
